None. I encourage a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and believe that we all learn from each other, regardless of skill-level.

I encourage new students to be open with me about their experience level so I can plan our time together to be most effective.

What is most important for all students is a desire to learn and enthusiasm for art and making.

Class pricing varies depending on the type of class. I am currently offering one-on-one private tuition only, which is a flat rate of $80 per session, per person.

Step 1 is to enquire via the website contact form, via email, or via phone. Individual, one-on-one sessions suit a variety of people. You might very new to your chosen area and looking for highly personalised mentoring for beginner level. You may have more experience and be looking for someone to help you refine and improve your work. I will generally have a discussion with new one-on-one students to get a clear picture of your interests and abilities within art, helping me best plan your session

Due to the intensive and personalised nature of one-on-one sessions, a few days' notice prior to a booking is appreciated in order to help me plan your session

My current focus in teaching is to support students in acquiring technical know-how in the areas of painting and drawing and achieving their personal artistic goals. Children over the age of 15 are welcome to join any advertised classes provided they are comfortable working with others of varying ages (in group classes), and interested in learning techniques.

Given my particular area of expertise and the limited space of the studio, I do not offer whole classes specifically for younger children or groups of children. I am happy to organise sessions with teens (around 15+) years, and younger students on a case-by-case basis.

I encourage parents to register their interest in potential kids' classes in the future, and to join my mailing list for updates on new classes as they arise.

I hold a current Working with Vulnerable Peoples Card, which will be presented to parents upon request.

My studio is located at my home address in South Hobart. I make my exact address known to new students once their enrollment is confirmed. The property is easily accessible via car, bus, bike, or foot.

I can provide 1 off-street car space on the property, on-street parking directly outside, and can recommend free off-street parking directly across the road. The property is approximately 100m from bus stop 14 on Cascade Road which has services direct to the city. We are also situated 20m from the end of the very beautiful Hobart Rivulet bicycle and walking track (about 10 mins to the city by bike, or 30 on foot).

All sessions include the provision of basic art materials, but when attending any art class it is advisable to bring a visual diary or notebook, something to write/draw with, and an apron or smock. You may wish to also bring extra art supplies that you personally favour.

You may bring any relevant in-progress artwork, imagery, or special materials you want to test. You will be reminded of this, plus any lesson-specific requirements or suggestions when you enroll.

Why yes! I'm glad you asked! I carry a basic range of oil and heavy-body acrylic paints, and canvas for sale exclusively to students on site for those who wish to stock up on decent quality, low-price gear. EFTPOS and cash payments are available.
At this stage, no. All classes are currently 2.5 hours each, and cannot be subdivided. But if applicable, I invite you to register your interest in shorter sessions via the website contact form. If demand is high enough, 1 hour sessions may become an option in the future.

If you cannot attend a booked lesson, let me know no later than 48 hours prior to lesson, and I will provide a refund or we can transfer your lesson to another time.

If you cancel within 48 hours, or 'no-show', refunds/ transfers will not be given outside of extraordinary circumstances.

For sure! You are welcome to purchase lessons on behalf of someone else provided they are willing and able to participate in all related activities. Just get in touch via email, phone, or the website contact form and I can organise a Gift Voucher to be sent to you or the recipient.

I always welcome input and suggestions, and want to make the classes I run as rewarding as possible for all involved. As an independent business person and sole-trader, customer feedback is vital to keep things running well. I encourage you to contact me directly via phone, email, or the website contact form so that I can address any issues immediately.

Students will also be provided with an anonymous Feedback Form towards the end of their Course or Art Group.

If you would like to leave a review, you may do so via the Felicity Lovett Art Facebook Page, or Google Business. Your feedback can go a long way and help others find what they're looking for!
